On July 7, a flower-laying ceremony was held at the Magtymguly Fragi Cultural and Park Complex in Ashgabat, commemorating the 144th anniversary of the Belarusian literary classic Yanka Kupala. The event was organized by the Embassy of Belarus in Turkmenistan jointly with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Turkmenistan, including employees of the Russian Embassy.

During the event, Yanka Kupala's poem "Spadchyna" ("Heritage") was read to those gathered, translated into Turkmen. Lines from this poem formed the basis for a song of the same name by the Soviet and Belarusian vocal and instrumental ensemble "Pesnyary."
