Nokia has launched a new range of push-button mobile phones with a built-in AI assistant

HMD Global has unveiled four new feature phone models under the Nokia brand: the Nokia 200 4G, Nokia 210 4G, Nokia 215 4G 2nd Edition and Nokia 235 4G 2nd Edition. All the devices retain the traditional design of classic feature phones, but have been equipped with a range of modern features.

The key feature of the new range is a dedicated button on the joystick for quickly activating the Sikey AI voice assistant, which allows users to ask simple questions and control the device’s functions using voice commands. You can use it to turn on the torch, open the camera, set alarms and reminders, and make calls. The assistant is free for the first 180 days of use, after which a paid subscription is required; this can only be set up via a smartphone, according to GSMArenaGSMArena.

All four models run on the S30+ operating system and are fitted with a 1,450 mAh battery. The models differ in screen size: the Nokia 210 4G and 215 4G feature a 2.4-inch QVGA display, whilst the 215 and 235 have a 2.8-inch IPS panel with the same resolution. The cameras also differ — according to sources, the higher-end models have 2-megapixel cameras, whilst the lower-end models are limited to VGA modules.

All models use the Xpress Chat app for video calls, which operates via the built-in VGA cameras. In addition, the phones support a cloud-based service which, according to the company, provides access to videos, weather forecasts and sports news without using the device’s limited internal memory.

Other features include dual SIM support, FM radio, Bluetooth 5.0, a 3.5 mm headphone jack and USB-C charging. The batteries in all models are removable.
