China plans to open its first fully automated hotel by 2030, where robots and artificial intelligence systems will take over most staff functions. This is reported by China Daily and New Atlas.
The facility will be located on an artificial island near the Shenzhen–Zhongshan Bridge. The hotel will welcome its first guests in 2027—initially in a trial mode, with humans still performing some tasks. Full automation of all services is scheduled for 2030.
The project is being implemented in partnership with the Chinese robotics manufacturer Pudu Robotics. Technology deployment will begin in 2026 and proceed in stages. Planned solutions include the FlashBot vending system, allowing guests to order food and drinks via an app and have them delivered directly to their rooms by robots.
All the necessary equipment is already in mass production and being supplied to clients across 85 countries and regions. PUDU T300 robots, with a load capacity of 300 kg, will handle luggage transport, while the CC1 Pro and MT1 models will take care of cleaning guest rooms and public areas. Additionally, the hotel will employ the BellaBot Pro robot barista and the KettyBot Pro robot waiter.
To manage the entire infrastructure, the company developed its own AI models and agents. According to Pudu Robotics, reception robots will be able to recognize guests' speech and gestures in multiple languages, delivery robots will autonomously plot optimal routes, and cleaning robots will adapt to changing conditions in real time.
