Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent his condolences to the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, following the explosion at a gas processing plant in the Ras Laffan industrial zone, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reported.

The head of state expressed deep condolences and words of support to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to the injured, the statement said.

An explosion occurred at a facility in the Ras Laffan industrial zone northeast of Doha on June 21. The zone is home to the country's main liquefied natural gas production facilities. According to Qatar's Minister of State for Energy and CEO of QatarEnergy, Saad bin Sharida Al Kaabi, as a result of the accident, 13 people died and another 66 were injured.
