Warner Bros. Animation is developing a new animated feature film about the iconic characters Tom the cat and Jerry the mouse. This was announced by the project's screenwriter, Will McCormack, according to championat.com.
The film's plot follows Tom and Jerry as they are adopted by a loving couple, after which the cat and mouse join forces to destroy their relationship. McCormack describes the film as a romantic comedy and draws parallels with the Oscar-winning musical "La La Land."
McCormack is co-writing the script with Rashida Jones. A release date and other project details have not yet been announced.
