Nurmyrat Annacharyev, Director of the Arkadag Museum of History and Local History, represented Turkmenistan at the first Eurasian Museum Directors' Forum, which took place in Ulaanbaatar from June 15 to 20.
The goal of the forum is to digitalize the museum system, according to the website of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan.
In his speech at the forum, Nurmyrat Annacharyev noted:
Serving as scientific research, cultural, and educational institutions, museums are leading centers in Turkmenistan, focusing on the comprehensive study of local history. They house and preserve historical treasures, valuable documents, ancient printed publications, musical instruments, and other national treasures collected from across the country.
With the constant advancement of mobile and communications technologies in leading countries, the use of QR codes has become more widespread. A QR code service has also been launched at the Arkadag Museum of History and Local History. This service is available to all museum visitors: using a QR code on a mobile phone, visitors can learn more about each exhibit in the museum's collection.
The Arkadag Museum's website is also available for visitors. It contains all the information about the museum, as well as updates on its operations and news.
Nurmyrat Annacharyev also spoke about the international collaborations being carried out within the framework of the museum's scientific and educational work.
