Malaysia's Prime Minister was presented with a hand-woven silk carpet at an exhibition in Ashgabat

Renowned Turkmen carpet maker Orazgul Eyeberdyeva presented Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim with a hand-woven silk carpet, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reported.

According to the agency, the product was personally presented to the Malaysian Prime Minister by Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

The ceremony took place during a tour of an exhibition organized as part of an international conference dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmen-Malaysian cooperation in the oil and gas industry.

Eyeberdyeva also spoke about the history and characteristics of national carpet weaving, as well as the types and methods of carpet production. The craftswoman presented President Serdar Berdimuhamedov with hand-woven horjun carpets.

The exhibition took place at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan. The President of Turkmenistan and the Prime Minister of Malaysia toured the pavilion dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the partnership with Petronas, where they learned about the results of their joint work, the technologies used, and promising projects in the field of deep hydrocarbon processing. The exhibition also featured exhibits from leading state-owned concerns – Türkmengaz, Türkmennebit, Türkmengeologiýa, oil refineries and a number of industry ministries.
