The Malaysian Prime Minister planted a tree at the Independence Monument of Turkmenistan

On June 19, Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim laid flowers and planted a tree at the Independence Monument of Turkmenistan in Ashgabat. The ceremony was held as a sign of respect for the history, sovereignty, and development of Turkmen statehood.

The event was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, who oversees the fuel and energy sector, Guvanch Agajanov, and the mayor of Ashgabat, Rahym Gandymov.

I begin Friday in Ashgabat by participating in a flower-laying ceremony and tree-planting at the Independence Monument of Turkmenistan as a sign of respect for the history, sovereignty, and struggle to establish this state.

This monument was built to commemorate Turkmenistan's independence from the Soviet Union in 1991 and has become the main symbol of sovereignty and identity of modern Turkmenistan.

The event also reflects the growing friendly relations between Malaysia and Turkmenistan, based on mutual respect, trust and the desire to expand cooperation in various fields that benefit both countries, the Malaysian Prime Minister wrote in his page X.
