Streaming platform Spotify announced the launch of Reserved by Spotify, a feature that will allow its most active users to purchase concert tickets before general sales begin, according to TechCrunch.

Only Premium subscribers will be able to use the new feature. Participants will be selected based on in-app activity—number of listens, posts, and other user actions. The company clarified that background music playback will not be considered when determining the "most dedicated" fans.

Selected users will be able to redeem reserved tickets commission-free. The offer will apply to the entire tour, not just a single concert: listeners will be able to choose their preferred date, city, and seating. Tickets purchased through Reserved by Spotify cannot be resold.

The program's first participant will be American artist Role Model, whose tour will span 17 US cities. Initially, the feature is only available to adult users in the United States. Spotify plans to expand the service to other countries in the future.
