Turkmenistan reaffirmed its strong commitment to the goals and principles of the CTBT

During the 66th session of the Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO), which is taking place in Vienna from June 15 to 17, the delegation of Turkmenistan, headed by the Director of the Institute of Seismology and Atmospheric Physics of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, Guljemal Charyeva, declared its firm commitment to the goals and principles of the Treaty, particularly noting the 30th anniversary of the country's accession to it.

Turkmenistan's active cooperation with the CTBTO was also highlighted, including the operation of the PS44 Alibek International Monitoring System seismic station and ongoing efforts to strengthen national monitoring and verification capacity.

Turkmenistan confirmed its readiness to further strengthen cooperation with the CTBTO and contribute to ensuring international peace and security, as well as enhancing the effectiveness of the global verification regime.

During the Turkmen delegation's visit, a regional training course for national data centers and a Youth Forum were held, which facilitated dialogue on peace, security, and nuclear disarmament among young representatives of the region, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reported.
