Antoine Fuqua's biopic Michael has surpassed Bryan Singer's 2018 film Bohemian Rhapsody to become the highest-grossing musical feature film of all time.
According to Deadline, the film grossed 911,9 million USD, while Rhapsody settled at 911 million USD. Of this total, 358,6 million USD came from North American box office receipts, and 555,3 million USD came from international distribution.
For Lionsgate, Michael became the highest-grossing film in its history, surpassing franchises such as Twilight, The Hunger Games, and John Wick.
Work is currently underway on a sequel to the film.
