The Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan is accepting applications for participation in the VIII International Short Story Competition named after Mahmud Kashgarly, which was announced in honor of the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Eurasian Union of Writers.

The competition invites stories that have not previously been published in print or won any fiction competition awards. The stories can cover any topic.

Those wishing to participate must send their stories (in printed and electronic form), as well as other relevant documents (copy of passport, biography, pseudonym, photograph, residential address, place of work, study, telephone number) to the email address of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan sanly-medeniyet@sanly.tm by July 31.

The winners of the competition will be awarded the following prizes:

• First place: 45,000 Turkish lira;

• Second place: 25,000 Turkish lira;

• Third place: 15,000 Turkish lira;

• Incentive prize: 10,000 Turkish lira.
