Turkmen schoolchildren will take part in the international "Train of Memory" project

Turkmen schoolchildren will take part in the "Train of Memory" cultural and educational project. This was reported by Russian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Ivan Volynkin in an article published in the newspaper "Neutral Turkmenistan" on the occasion of Russia Day.

"I would like to express my gratitude to our Turkmen friends for their support of the cultural and educational project “Train of Memory”. Soon, students from 18 countries, including Turkmenistan, will embark on an unforgettable two-week trip to sites of military glory from the Great Patriotic War. It will begin on the eve of the 85th anniversary of the start of the most terrible war in human history. It is especially valuable for us that we stand shoulder to shoulder to mark both tragic dates and occasions of shared pride, such as the 65th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin's flight into space," the diplomat wrote.

The "Train of Memory" project was initiated by the heads of the upper chambers of parliaments of Russia and Belarus. It aims to foster respect for historical memory and the heroic deeds of our ancestors during the Great Patriotic War, promote youth dialogue, and foster mutual understanding of each other's cultures and traditions.

This year, the project's route will cover eight cities in the Republic of Belarus and five cities in the Russian Federation. Participants will include high school students and 10th-grade students.
