Mudflows and rising river levels are expected in Kyrgyzstan's mountainous and foothill regions from June 2 to 6. The country's Ministry of Transport and Communications issued a warning, urging citizens to take precautions and consider weather conditions when planning their travel.
According to the agency, the deteriorating hydrological situation is due to unstable weather and forecast heavy rainfall. The precipitation could trigger mudflows and a sharp rise in water levels in rivers and other bodies of water.
The ministry recommended that drivers and travelers exercise increased vigilance, especially when traveling on mountain roads and roads located near rivers. Citizens are also advised to monitor weather forecasts and emergency services for updates.
Authorities emphasize that compliance with safety measures will minimize risks during periods of adverse weather conditions.
