PSG retained their Champions League title by beating “Arsenal” on penalties

“Paris Saint-Germain” won the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League after defeating London's “Arsenal” in a penalty shootout. The match ended 1-1 after regulation and extra time.

The Londoners opened the scoring in the sixth minute: Kai Havertz gave “Arsenal” the lead and gave the team confidence at the start of the match. However, in the 65th minute, Ousmane Dembélé converted a penalty to restore parity. In extra time, both teams were unable to break the opponent's stubborn resistance, and the fate of the trophy was decided in a penalty shootout, where luck favored the Parisians.

PSG dominated possession throughout the match, enjoying 72% possession compared to “Arsenal's” 28%, and had 19 shots on goal, including 11 corners. The London club played primarily defensively, limiting themselves to five shots, but managed to drag the match to penalties.

For “Paris Saint-Germain”, this victory was their second consecutive Champions League title – last season, the Parisian club also won Europe's top trophy, defeating “Inter Milan” 5-0 in the final.
