Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Korea B. Durdyev took part in a working meeting between the Minister of Intellectual Property (MIP) of Korea Kim Yong-sun and ambassadors of Central Asian countries.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the meeting was dedicated to the development of cooperation in the field of intellectual property in the context of preparations for the First Central Asia – Republic of Korea Summit and the signing of the corresponding Memorandum of Understanding.

The meeting was called "the first step toward creating a Silk Road of Intellectual Property."

According to Kim Yong-sun, the combination of Central Asia's natural resources with Korean technology and expertise in this area opens up vast opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation.

Turkmen Ambassador B. Durdyev noted that the Korean side's initiative to sign a memorandum on intellectual property was received positively by the Turkmen side.

The meeting reflected the steady progress in bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and Korea, as well as Turkmenistan's active participation in the regional dialogue with Korea in the lead-up to the landmark summit, the source noted.
