Turkmenistan's Ambassador to the United States, Amanmuhammet Aydogdyev, met with Congressman Bill Huizenga at the U.S. Congress.
During the talks, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of Turkmen-American cooperation, regional connectivity, and the role of the C5+1 and B5+1 formats in strengthening dialogue between the United States and Central Asian states.
Meeting participants also exchanged views on pressing regional issues and opportunities for further development of constructive and mutually beneficial cooperation.
Bill Huizenga is an American Republican politician representing Michigan's 4th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives, a position he has held since 2011. In the current House, he serves as Vice Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee and Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee's Subcommittee on South and Central Asia. This latter position makes him one of the key members of Congress overseeing U.S. policy toward the Central Asian region, which underscores the relevance of his meeting with the Turkmen ambassador.
