The President of Turkmenistan will hold a series of meetings with heads of CIS delegations in Ashgabat

Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov will hold a series of bilateral meetings with heads of delegations within the framework of the meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States, which will take place on May 22 in Ashgabat, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reported.

The program of events also includes bilateral talks between the heads of delegations from CIS member states, as well as meetings of the heads of delegations at relevant Commonwealth bodies. Following the meeting, the signing of a number of documents is expected.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, together with the CIS Executive Committee, is leading preparations for the summit. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov delivered a progress report at the Cabinet meeting.

Turkmenistan holds the CIS Presidency this year. Since the beginning of the year, meetings of relevant councils and commissions of the Commonwealth have been held as part of its presidency.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that Turkmenistan is consistently developing cooperation with the CIS in the trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres, and instructed the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to ensure a high level of organization for the upcoming event.
