Turkmenistan is modernizing its publishing legislation

Turkmenistan plans to update the legislative framework regulating the publishing industry. The relevant issue was discussed at a Cabinet of Ministers meeting, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.

Deputy Chairperson of the Cabinet of Ministers B. Seyidova presented a report on this topic. She reported that newspapers and magazines published by the Turkmen State Publishing Service are currently distributed to the public electronically. This necessitates modernizing current legislation: changes are planned for state policy and support for the publishing industry, as well as for regulating the government procurement system.

After hearing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the country's focus on developing the publishing industry and strengthening its material and technical infrastructure. The head of state approved the proposals presented and instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to carry out the necessary work to improve the industry's legislative framework.
