A meeting of the speakers of the parliaments of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan was held in Bukhara

On May 13, during her working visit to Bukhara, Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan D. Gulmanova met with Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan T. Narbaeva.

During the meeting, it was noted that cooperation in the field of international law plays an important role in the further development of large-scale, equal, and mutually beneficial relations between the two countries, according to the website of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan.

The sides also discussed issues of enhancing the role of women in transport, transit, cross-border cooperation, and digital technologies.

The parties noted the importance of exchanging legislative experience, intensifying the work of interparliamentary friendship groups, supporting each other's initiatives in international parliamentary arenas, strengthening ties between young and female parliamentarians, and holding meetings and consultations.

D. Gulmanova invited the Speaker of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan to participate in international and interparliamentary events to be held in the Awaza National Tourist Zone as part of Turkmenistan's chairmanship of the CIS this year and the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asian Countries and the Republic of Azerbaijan.
