Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Political Affairs to the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tan Sri Mohd Hassan Marikan, and the Chairman and CEO of the Petronas Group of Companies, Tan Sri Tengku Muhammad Taufik, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reported.

During the meeting, the guests conveyed greetings to Serdar Berdimuhamedov from the Supreme Ruler of Malaysia, Sultan Ibrahim, and the country's Prime Minister, Anwar Ibrahim.

The parties noted that this year marks 30 years of bilateral cooperation. During this period, Petronas has been actively involved in hydrocarbon production projects in Turkmenistan, the development of the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea, and the training of specialists for the country's oil and gas industry.

Following the visit, a protocol on commercial terms is planned to be signed between the state-owned concern Türkmennebit and Petronas Çarigali (Turkmenistan) Sdn. Bhd.

The President of Turkmenistan confirmed the country's commitment to developing mutually beneficial relations with Malaysia and its willingness to consider new proposals for cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
