On May 3, a new high-speed Hyundai Rotem train began operating on the Tashkent-Khiva railway route, “Uzbekistan Railways” reported.
The train, named "Jaloliddin Manguberdy," covers the route in 7,5 hours. It departs Tashkent's Central Station at 7:00 and arrives in Khiva at 14:31. The return journey departs Khiva at 7:20 and arrives in the capital at 14:51. Services operate three times a week—on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Tickets cost 780 000 soums.
The electric train is designed to accommodate 390 passengers and reach speeds of up to 260 km/h. It features three classes of service. Its design is adapted to the region's climate: it is resistant to dust, sandstorms, and extreme temperatures.
