Chinese truck manufacturer FAW Trucks (China First Automobile Works) recorded record demand for its vehicles in Turkmenistan in the first quarter of 2026, according to ES “Shanly Kerven”, the company's official distributor in Turkmenistan.
It should also be noted that ES “Ak Bulut” is also the official distributor of the company in Turkmenistan.
According to transport market analysts, FAW Trucks' share of Turkmenistan's new heavy-duty truck market could reach 25% by mid-2026. This growth in demand is being driven by the implementation of large-scale infrastructure projects in Turkmenistan, where the Chinese manufacturer's equipment is being used by national construction and transport companies.
The manufacturer has adapted its model range to suit Turkmenistan's climate: the trucks are equipped with a reinforced engine cooling system designed for operation at temperatures above +50°C, fine dust and sand filtration systems, and cabins with enhanced thermal insulation.
FAW Trucks is also considering expanding its supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) trucks. According to the company, this initiative is in line with Turkmenistan's state strategy to transition the transport sector to cleaner fuels. Turkmenistan has some of the world's largest proven natural gas reserves.
