Turkmenistan will appoint ambassadors to the Republic of Maldives and the State of Brunei Darussalam

Today, at a meeting of the Government of Turkmenistan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs R. Meredov reported on Turkmenistan's cooperation with countries of the Asia-Pacific region.

A number of proposals were presented, taking into account the significant role of Asia-Pacific countries in contemporary global politics, the Turkmen state's relations with them, and the rich experience of partnership accumulated over the years of independence.

Considering that one of the important objectives of the country's foreign policy is the further development of cooperation with countries of the Asia-Pacific region, and also in order to expand diplomatic representation in these countries, it was proposed that the ambassadors of Turkmenistan to the Republic of India and Malaysia be simultaneously appointed as ambassadors to the Republic of Maldives and the State of Brunei Darussalam, respectively.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, having approved the submitted proposals, instructed the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs to carry out the relevant work, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
