Delegates from the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan participate in the ECOSOC Youth Forum

Delegates from the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan are participating in the Youth Forum of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), which began yesterday in New York.

According to the website of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, the forum is held under the motto "Innovation, Connection, and Transformation: Youth Shaping the Path to 2030" and brings together youth, representatives of Member States, UN agencies, and partner organizations to advance the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Turkmenistan is represented by Gulnabat Gurdova, Head of the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, and Vepa Gutlyev, Head of the Youth Policy Department.

A key part of the forum's opening program was a discussion on "Youth Innovations and Solutions for Accelerating Progress in Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals," during which young leaders from around the world presented their ideas, developments, and practical initiatives aimed at promoting sustainable development.

In accordance with the official program, the first day of the forum also included plenary sessions dedicated to SDG 6 "Clean Water and Sanitation," SDG 7 "Affordable and Clean Energy," and SDG 9 "Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure." These sessions addressed issues such as ensuring universal access to water and sanitation, enhancing youth participation in promoting sustainable energy solutions, and fostering innovation, digital transformation, and entrepreneurship for sustainable development.

The participation of the Turkmenistan delegation in the ECOSOC Youth Forum confirms the country's continued commitment to developing international cooperation in the areas of youth policy, education, and sustainable development, the source notes.
