Seeds of new cotton varieties have been prepared for testing in Turkmenistan

The Dashoguz branch of the Research Institute of Cotton Growing of the Ministry of Agriculture of Turkmenistan is working to develop new cotton varieties adapted to the velayat's climatic conditions.

This year, seeds of the new cotton varieties "Dashoguz-11" and "Dashoguz-12" were prepared for variety testing, reports Turkmenistan: Golden Age.

Ch. Seyitmuradov, head of the Dashoguz Velat branch, notes:

These varieties continue our line of medium-fiber "Dashoguz" cotton varieties. We strive to improve the quality of cotton grown in the region and create high-yielding varieties that are best suited to local soil and weather conditions. The new varieties will boast higher yields, fiber yield, and fiber quality.

Cotton growing is one of the main agricultural sectors in the velayat. Thanks to the successful implementation of state projects, a full cycle has been established, from breeding and seed production to processing the raw material into finished products, the source notes.
