Avaza will host the VII Vienna Ball in October

On April 10, 2026, an extended meeting of the Austrian-Turkmen Society was held in Vienna, timed to coincide with the visit of the National Leader of the Turkmen People Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Austria and the 18th anniversary of the organization's founding.

Representatives of Austrian companies and institutions participated in the event in person, including the medical company DiproMed, the construction company Waagner Biro Steel and Glass, the metallurgical holding Voestalpine Tubulars, the pharmaceutical company Sigmapharm Arzneimittel, and the Graz University of Technology. The Turkmen side joined the meeting online.

Opening the meeting, Society President Neda Berger described the visit as a confirmation of the strategic nature of the Turkmen-Austrian partnership. According to her, Austria reaffirmed its support for Turkmenistan's international initiatives in the areas of global security, energy sustainability, and the development of transport corridors. Berger also reported on her meeting with Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on April 8, during which the society's projects for 2026–2027 were discussed.

Planned initiatives include holding the VII Vienna Ball in Avaza in October 2026, the participation of Austrian medical companies in production projects at the medical cluster in the city of Arkadag, and the release of a special seventh issue of “Galkynyş” magazine, which is planned to be dedicated to the National Leader of the Turkmen People.

The meeting participants discussed prospects for bilateral cooperation in medicine, construction, the food industry, trade, the oil and gas sector, green energy, and digitalization. All speakers congratulated Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the results of his Vienna visit and Neda Berger on the 18th anniversary of the society, which was established in connection with the then-President of Turkmenistan's first state visit to Austria in November 2008.
