Turkmen wrestler Alp Arslan Begenjov won bronze at the Asian Adult Freestyle Wrestling Championships, which took place from April 6 to 12 in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. He competed in the 86 kg weight class.
In the qualifying round, Begenjov defeated Mongolian athlete Byambadorj Bat Erdene 10-0 via technical superiority. In the quarterfinals, the Turkmen athlete also convincingly defeated Tajikistan's Bakhodur Kodirov 10-0.
In the semi-finals, Begenjov lost to Iranian wrestler Kamran Ghorban Ghasempur with a score of 0:11 by technical superiority and moved on to the fight for third place.
In the bronze medal match, the Turkmen athlete faced Japan's Yudai Takahashi and won 10-5 on points, claiming the continental championship title.
Tournament gold went to Kamran Ghorban Ghasempur, who defeated India's Mukul Dahiya 7-0 in the final.
