The Turkmenistan Figure Skating Championships were held in Ashgabat to commemorate World Health Day. The competition took place at the Winter Sports Complex. Nineteen athletes competed in three categories.

According to Zolotoy Vek, Maria Vyzhlakova, Veronika Ovezova, and Melisa Yuce took the podium in the Basic category. Aylar Ekayeva, Mahrijemal Rozyeva, and Alena Goryunova took the podium in the Basic Novice category. Leyla Gaylyeva won the women's category in the Intermediate and Advanced Novice categories, while Rahman Khodjamkuliev won the men's category.

The source notes that most of the competition's winners are coached by Ilina Karimova, a graduate of the Belarusian State University of Physical Education with a degree in figure skating. Since 2019, she has served as the national junior team coach. Her personal achievements include gold at the 2012 “Dubai Gold Cup”, when the Turkmenistan team won five medals.

Athletes from the Sports School of the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Physical Culture and Sports already have experience competing in international competitions. The young figure skaters' primary goal remains qualifying for the 2027 “Children of Asia” International Sports Games in Krasnoyarsk, the publication adds.
