Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov met with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea, Lee Won-jae, during which the diplomat presented copies of his credentials, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry's press service reported.

The Turkmen side congratulated the ambassador on his appointment and wished him success in strengthening friendly relations between the two countries.

At the meeting, it was emphasized that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to developing a bilateral partnership based on the principles of long-standing friendship, trust, and mutual understanding. The key role of high-level contacts in developing political dialogue between the two countries was particularly noted.

The parties reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation within international formats and emphasized the importance of intensifying interparliamentary contacts. Furthermore, they noted the potential for expanding trade and economic cooperation and developing ties between the business communities of the two countries.

Prospects for cultural and humanitarian cooperation, including in education and sports, were also discussed. The Turkmen side expressed its readiness to provide comprehensive support to the ambassador's activities in his new position.
