The rhythm of life accelerating every day, poor ecology, rush at work, an overabundance of information and pessimistic news in the media - all these factors, accumulating, give rise to chronic stress, which, in turn, can lead to physical and mental illnesses and emotional burnout.

Everyone has their own methods of dealing with chronic stress: someone prefers to sleep off, someone resorts to the help of professional psychologists and neurologists, someone finds a hobby.

Until the degree of chronic stress has reached the point where only medication and psychotherapy can help, you can use simpler methods that are available to almost everyone. From an impressive list of tips, everyone can choose the right one for themselves.

General house cleaning. Many use this method to deal with stress. Putting things in order in the house helps to put it in your own thoughts.

Sports. Physical activity can distract from emotional experiences, and at the same time improve the figure, which also helps to improve mood.

Breathing exercises. Well relaxes, normalizes cardiac activity.

Aromatherapy. Essential oils of lavender, cedar, ylang-ylang, bergamot, added to an aroma lamp or bath, relieve fatigue and excessive excitability, tune in a more optimistic mood, and drive away insomnia.

Dance. You can dance at home in front of a mirror or in special sections, groups or aerobics classes. Free movements to rhythmic music permit you to throw out negative energy and distract from obsessive thoughts.

In addition, in a number of countries there are certain concepts and practices that permit you to improve mental health and find happiness in simple everyday things.

“Hygge” is a Danish philosophy of happiness, according to which you need to learn to appreciate various cozy little things, like a comfortable chair after a hard day, a warm blanket with a cup of your favorite tea. Delicious food, comfortable clothes, pleasant communication with relatives or friends - all this can give joy and peace.

“Friluftsliv” is a Norwegian philosophy of unity with nature. It can be like an ordinary walk in the park, along the river, to the lake, or it can be a long hike with a backpack, spending the night in a tent, a night with a fishing rod on the shore of a reservoir.

In some ways, the Japanese “shinrin yoku” is similar to “friluftsliv” - the practice of meditative walks through the forest. Walking through the woods, it is advised to put the phone on silent or even on airplane mode so that it does not distract. At the same time, it is not at all necessary to climb into remote places; a city park or a green area in the suburbs may come up. During the walk, you need to turn on all the senses: listen to the noise of trees, the singing of birds, inhale the aromas of greenery and earth, pay attention to the pattern of the bark on the trees, touch them, and so on.

One way or another, all the tips for dealing with stress are aimed at distracting from negative thoughts and focusing on positive feelings, as well as getting plenty of rest, especially emotionally.
