On June 24, a telephone conversation took place between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov and British Minister of State for Europe, North America and Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.
During the conversation, the British side expressed gratitude to the government of Turkmenistan for assistance in the departure of UK citizens from Iran in connection with the aggravation of the situation in the Middle East.
As Stephen Doughty emphasized, this step demonstrates Turkmenistan's commitment to the principles of humanism and international solidarity.
During the dialogue, the parties also discussed current issues of bilateral cooperation, including political and diplomatic ties and trade and economic partnership. Particular attention was paid to the successful participation of the British private sector in the international investment forum IFT-2025, held in Ashgabat in March this year.
The interlocutors also touched on regional agenda topics and agreed to continue cooperation between the foreign policy departments within the framework of upcoming events in the second half of the year.
