The second Central Asia-China summit will be held in the capital of Kazakhstan on June 17, during which the region's leaders will discuss issues of security, development of political dialogue, trade, economic and transport cooperation, TASS reports, citing the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Aibek Smadiyarov.
“The event will include discussions on a wide range of issues related to strengthening regional cooperation, expanding political dialogue, deepening trade and economic ties, developing transport connectivity, energy, innovation and sustainable development,” the diplomat noted.
Following the summit, it is planned to sign the Astana Declaration and the Treaty on Eternal Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation. As Smadiyarov emphasized, these documents are intended to consolidate the parties' desire to further strengthen multifaceted cooperation based on mutual respect, trust and shared responsibility for the sustainable development of the region.
In addition to the main talks, a number of additional events are planned within the framework of the second summit in Astana, including an energy forum of Central Asian countries and China, as well as a meeting of the business council.
The first summit in the Central Asia – China format took place in May 2023 in the Chinese city of Xi'an.
