Türkiye will increase tariffs for ships passing through the Bosphorus and Dardanelles straits from July 1. This was announced by the country's Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloglu in an interview with the NTV channel, Gazeta.ru reports.
Under the new tariffs, the value of the gold franc used to calculate fees for ships passing through the straits will be increased by 15% to 5,83 USD.
The cost of passage through the straits has remained unchanged for the past 40 years. In July 2023, Türkiye raised tariffs for the first time in this time by 8% to 4,42 USD.
