A powerful magnetic storm covered the planet after the Sun ejected plasma — the cloud reached Earth a day earlier than expected. Geomagnetic activity reached level 4 out of 5 possible, making this event the largest since the beginning of the year, Mir24.tv reports.
According to experts, such high activity can lead to serious consequences. People sensitive to weather changes are already complaining of headaches, dizziness and increased irritability. Electronics failures, communication and navigation system interruptions are also expected.
At the same time, the storm also brought a rare spectacle — the northern lights can be seen even in southern latitudes. According to scientists, geomagnetic instability, although with less intensity, will continue until the end of the month.
