In the second round of the presidential elections in Poland, the candidate of the Law and Justice party Karol Nawrocki won. According to official data from the National Electoral Commission, after 100% of the ballots were processed, he received 50.89% of the votes.
His opponent, Warsaw Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski (Civic Coalition), received 49.11% of the votes. Nawrocki led in six voivodeships, collecting 10.6 million votes, while Trzaskowski maintained his advantage in the western and central regions of the country.
The voter turnout was 71.63%, which was one of the highest figures in recent years. In the first round, held on May 18, Trzaskowski received 31.36%, and Nawrocki - 29.54%.
Nawrocki, who served as director of the Institute of National Remembrance before his election, is known as a supporter of the conservative course.
