A Turkmen-Mongolian business forum aimed at developing trade and economic partnership between the two countries was held in the capital of Mongolia within the framework of the state visit of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
The event was held in the conference hall of the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Mongolia with the participation of heads and representatives of government agencies and business circles of both countries. Before the meeting, the participants got acquainted with the exposition of works of decorative and applied art of Turkmenistan and the exhibition of Turkmen carpets.
As the speakers noted, the traditionally friendly relations between Turkmenistan and Mongolia are experiencing a new upsurge. This was confirmed by large packages of documents signed during mutual state visits of the presidents of the two countries in October last year and at present.
The forum featured video presentations of the economic and investment potential of both countries, and information on the investment climate and benefits for foreign investors.
Mongolian partners noted that Turkmenistan, as one of the fast-growing economies of Central Asia, with rich natural resources, is of great interest to Mongolian business circles. Particular attention was paid to the priorities of industrial and innovative development of Turkmenistan and the introduction of advanced technologies in the production sector.
Representatives of Mongolian and Turkmen companies from various industries spoke at the forum. Representatives of Mongolian businesses expressed interest in establishing direct business contacts with Turkmen partners.
On the sidelines of the event, bilateral meetings were held between representatives of government agencies and private businesses, during which issues of expanding partnerships and implementing investment projects were discussed. Following the forum, a number of bilateral documents were signed.
The participants expressed confidence that the meeting would give new momentum to Turkmen-Mongolian economic relations and spoke in favor of continuing the practice of holding such events.
