"On behalf of the Turkmen people and the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, I sincerely congratulate you on the International Children's Day, widely celebrated in our Fatherland, recognized in the world as a country of happy childhood," says the message of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the President of Turkmenistan, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
The congratulatory message notes that under the leadership of the head of state, care for the younger generation is one of the priority areas of state policy. "Thanks to your efforts, a comprehensive system of material and social benefits, reliable legal and social guarantees for the active participation of children and young people in public life have been created in the country," the document emphasizes.
The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty noted the creation of a system of childbirth benefits in the country and the adoption of relevant legislative acts as evidence of state concern for young citizens.
On the occasion of International Children's Day, festive events are taking place in the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag, as well as throughout the country. The summer holiday season has ceremoniously started in the resort area of Gokdere and the world-famous National Tourist Zone "Avaza". The new park "Şapak" was opened in the capital during the holidays.
As noted in the message, Turkmenistan, among 190 countries in the world, has ratified the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and is working to fulfill its obligations in the area of protecting the interests of children. The country has been cooperating with the UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) for many years.
The rights of the child in independent Turkmenistan are reflected in the Constitution and special laws “On Education”, “On State Youth Policy”, “On Guarantees of the Rights of the Child”.
Particularly noteworthy is the work of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Care, which has received international recognition for its contribution to the implementation of the “leave no one behind” principle of the UN Agenda 2030.
