The Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan D. Gulmanova accepted the credentials of the Ambassador of the Republic of Colombia to Turkmenistan Hector Isidro Arenas Naira. This was reported on the website of the Mejlis.
On behalf of the head of state, having congratulated the ambassador on his appointment to a high diplomatic post, D. Gulmanova wished him great success in strengthening the established relations of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Colombia.
The ambassador was acquainted with the main directions of the domestic and peaceful foreign policy of independent, permanently neutral Turkmenistan, as well as with the activities of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan.
Noting the effectiveness of cooperation within the framework of international organizations, the parties expressed their readiness to continue to provide mutual support to initiatives promoted within the UN.
The presence of broad opportunities for exchanging experience in improving national legislation and parliamentary activities, familiarization with the potential for cooperation between the two states, and strengthening friendly relations between peoples was noted with satisfaction.
