In April 2025, the city of Arkadag will host the first ministerial forum on sustainable development of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), TDH reports.
The event is expected to be attended by leaders and representatives of ECO member states, international organizations, diplomatic missions accredited in Turkmenistan, as well as representatives of national ministries and departments.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Hojamurad Geldimyradov reported on the preparations for the forum. The main goal of the event will be to strengthen partnership in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in the ECO region.
The participants will discuss practical steps to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and develop a comprehensive cooperation strategy with the identification of priority areas. Following the meeting, it is planned to adopt an official document.
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, having heard the report on the preparation, emphasized the special importance of developing relations with the Economic Cooperation Organization for the country. The head of state instructed to ensure a high level of organization of the upcoming forum.
