2. The UN General Assembly unanimously adopted a resolution to hold the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries in the Avaza National Tourist Zone in Turkmenistan. The event will be held from August 5 to 8. The decision was made at the 63rd plenary meeting of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
3. At the eighth session of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan of the seventh convocation, several laws aimed at intensive socio-economic development of the country were considered and adopted. One of the key documents was the Law of Turkmenistan "On the Court" in a new edition. An important decision was the adoption of amendments and additions to the Law of Turkmenistan "On Automobile Transport", establishing the legal, economic and organizational foundations for the functioning of this industry. 4. At the “Galkynyş” gas field, as a result of drilling well No. 285 with a depth of 4452 meters, a new influx of natural gas with a daily flow rate of 2 million cubic meters was obtained. The gas comes from layers located at a depth of about 4,5 thousand meters.

1. Severe frosts in Turkey have affected the agricultural sector. According to Turkish Agriculture Minister Ibrahim Yumakli, some areas of the country recorded the lowest temperatures in the last 30 years in March-April this year. 1. Asian Football Confederation President Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa praised the development of Turkmen football during a meeting in Kuala Lumpur with the Chairman of the Football Federation of Turkmenistan Guvanchmuhammet Ovekov. Sheikh Salman congratulated Ovekov on his unanimous election as the head of Turkmen football in November last year. The AFC President particularly emphasized the successful start of the Turkmenistan national team in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifying tournament. Special praise was given to the “Arkadag” club, which reached the semi-finals of the current AFC Challenge League, beating Indian “East Bengal” in the quarter-finals with a total score of 3:1 after two matches.
2. Representatives of the Turkmenistan women's chess team Jahan Rejepova and Bagul Ezizova took fourth and sixth places, respectively, at the Asian Zonal Championship that ended in Almaty. Particularly distinguished was 14-year-old Jahan Rejepova, who was awarded the title of FIDE Women's Master and fulfilled the first norm of a Women's International Master. The tournament was an official qualifying round for the 2025 FIDE World Cup and brought together 131 leading chess players from five Central Asian countries and Afghanistan, including 87 men and 44 women.
