The celebration of the International Day of Novruz took place in the historical district of Tbilisi, Abanotubani. The event was organized with the support of the city mayor's office and with the participation of the embassies of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Iran, Türkiye, as well as various diasporas and cultural centers.
The guests' attention was drawn to the stand dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality. The pavilion of the Embassy of Turkmenistan, decorated in a national style, presented a rich exposition: books by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, traditional costumes and jewelry, handmade carpets, paintings, souvenirs, as well as national dishes and sweets.
The guests were greeted by the Mayor of Tbilisi Kakha Kaladze, the Chairman of the City Council Giorgi Tkemaladze and the ambassadors of the participating countries. Ambassador of Turkmenistan D. Seyitmammedov emphasized in his speech that Novruz is an integral part of the rich cultural heritage of the Turkmen people, whose mentality is historically based on peacefulness, good neighborliness and love for their native land.
The diplomat particularly noted the importance of the adoption of the UN General Assembly Resolution «2025 – International Year of Peace and Trust» at the initiative of Turkmenistan, which is recognition of the country's activities aimed at ensuring global peace and sustainable development. The ambassador also emphasized the unifying role of the Novruz holiday for the peoples who celebrate it, and its importance for strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties. The festive event ended with a concert program.
