On March 17, a meeting was held in Ashgabat between the Minister of Education of Turkmenistan D. Gurbangeldiyev and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Malaysia to Turkmenistan Mr. Mohd Suhaimi Bin Ahmad Tajuddin. This was reported on the website of the Ministry of Education.
The parties discussed prospects for cooperation in the field of education between the two countries, issues related to higher education and professional training, as well as the expansion of educational opportunities for young people.
During the meeting, proposals were made to develop new areas of cooperation between educational institutions of the two countries, including the implementation of joint projects. The active participation of students from Malaysian universities in international Olympiads and competitions held in Turkmenistan was also discussed.It was noted that Malaysian schoolchildren were invited to participate in the II International Mathematical Olympiad for Schoolchildren, which will be held in Turkmenistan.
It was also noted that the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan asked the Government of Malaysia to study the possibility of providing scholarships to Turkmen students and expressed confidence that with this initiative, cooperation in the field of education will reach a new stage.
For his part, the ambassador proposed to develop cooperation between Malaysia and Turkmenistan in the field of secondary vocational educational institutions.
At the end of the meeting, the parties confirmed their great interest in further active development of cooperation, assuring that they will make joint efforts to implement new projects and educational initiatives.
