A meeting was held in the city of Arkadag between the Vice President for Medical Activities of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Care Oguljahan Atabayeva and the Head of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Representative Office in Turkmenistan Jalpa Ratna. The parties discussed the current state and promising areas of cooperation, TDH reports.
It was noted at the meeting that joint work is already yielding positive results, and the existing potential for expanding cooperation in various areas is significant. The UNICEF representative emphasized that it was a great honor for her to meet with the leaders of the Foundation, which has received high recognition not only in the region, but throughout the world.
Particular attention at the meeting was paid to the issues of harmonious development of children in Turkmenistan. The parties discussed the National Strategy for 2021-2025 “Healthy Mother – Healthy Child – Healthy Future”.
Jalpa Ratna noted the exemplary humanitarian work of the Fund under the leadership of the National Leader of the Turkmen people and recalled the recent signing of bilateral documents between UNICEF and a number of ministries, departments and public organizations of Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, it was also reported that the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation turned four years old. During this time, the Foundation has provided assistance to children affected by natural disasters in various countries, and also provided treatment to many needy children in Turkmenistan.
The Vice President of the Foundation invited the heads and staff of the UNICEF Representative Office in Turkmenistan to take part in the upcoming celebrations on the occasion of the fourth anniversary of the organization, scheduled for March 29.
