The Chairman of the Committee on International and Interparliamentary Relations of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan took part in the regular meeting of the Interparliamentary Commissions on International Affairs of the Turkic States in Istanbul.
According to the press service of the Mejlis, during the meeting, issues of supporting cooperation between the Turkic states through parliamentary diplomacy were discussed. An exchange of views also took place on the priority of interstate and international agreements concerning the Turkic world and various areas of cooperation at international parliamentary venues.
Representatives of Turkmenistan emphasized the importance of this meeting in strengthening the inter-parliamentary dialogue, which will be held in 2025 – the International Year of Peace and Trust. The Turkmen delegation noted the advisability of establishing contacts between the relevant committees of parliaments, young deputies and women parliamentarians to enrich and improve inter-parliamentary cooperation between the Turkic-speaking states.
