Russian Ambassador to Ashgabat Ivan Volynkin congratulated diplomatic workers of Turkmenistan on their professional holiday, which is celebrated on February 18. This was stated in a statement by the press service of the Russian diplomatic mission.
Volynkin noted that in a short historical period, a recognized school of diplomacy has been formed in Turkmenistan. Its potential is constantly growing - representative international events are regularly held in Ashgabat, and Turkmenistan's initiatives are of interest in the world arena and make a significant contribution to ensuring global stability.
The Ambassador noted that, at the suggestion of Turkmenistan, the UN General Assembly adopted the resolution "2025 - International Year of Peace and Trust", co-authored by the Russian Federation. In Turkmenistan itself, the current year will be held under a similar motto and will be marked by the celebration of the 30th anniversary of permanent neutrality.
“By their example, the Turkmen people demonstrate to the whole world that a foreign policy based on peacefulness, responsibility, and respect for other views and opinions is optimal and fully corresponds to national interests. It is particularly gratifying that, in accordance with the principles of neutrality, Turkmenistan is strictly committed to international law, despite attempts by certain forces to replace it with some kind of “rules-based order.” In today's dynamic world, the role of diplomacy is extremely important. Mutual respect and understanding between the diplomatic departments of Russia and Turkmenistan ensure effective cooperation both within the framework of bilateral strategic partnership and in the international arena," the Russian diplomat notes.
Ivan Volynkin conveyed congratulations to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, under whose leadership the state's foreign policy is successfully implemented, as well as to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who laid the foundations for a trusting dialogue between the countries and established the Day of Diplomatic Workers of Turkmenistan in 2009.
The Ambassador also wished new achievements and prosperity to the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the entire staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, expressing gratitude for the responsiveness and support provided to the Russian Embassy and the diplomatic corps in Turkmenistan.
