During a telephone conversation, the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov proposed to the President of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian to work together to resolve the water issue in the region, TDH reports.
During the conversation, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov outlined Turkmenistan’s position on this issue to Pezeshkian.
“I outlined Turkmenistan’s position on the water issue at the One Water Summit in Riyadh last December. In this issue, we should rely on three key principles: the first is compliance with international law; the second is mutual consideration of the interests of all countries in the region; the third is the involvement of international structures, primarily the United Nations, in this problem,” the National Leader of the Turkmen people said.
