The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium in Ohio launched an unusual promotion for Valentine's Day. For 15 USD, anyone can symbolically “feed” their former partner to the sloth bears Randhir and Hyderosa, giving his name to a worm from the animals’ diet, reports pravilamag.ru.
Participants in the event will receive a personal video of 30-45 seconds in length, where they can see bears feasting on worms. Applications for participation are accepted until February 12.
“You can not only have a good laugh, but also take care of the animals,” the organizers note on the official website of the zoo.
For those planning to spend Valentine's Day in a more romantic setting, the zoo has prepared an alternative offer. For 30 USD you can order a felt heart with a loved one's name on it, which penguins use to build their nests. This option also includes video footage of the zoo's feathered inhabitants.
It is worth noting that such events dedicated to Valentine's Day are popular and are held annually in various zoos around the world.
