One of the largest computer equipment manufacturers, Dell, announced the end of its remote work policy for its employees. According to the new rules, which come into force from the beginning of March 2025, company personnel living within an hour’s radius of Dell offices will be required to be present at the workplace all five days a week, writes gazeta.ru.
In a corporate newsletter, the head of the company, Michael Dell, justified this decision by the advantages of live communication between employees. According to him, even a short personal conversation can be more effective than days-long email correspondence, despite all the achievements of modern technology.
It is noteworthy that this decision contrasts with the company's product positioning - Dell continues to actively market remote work solutions, emphasizing their positive impact on productivity and cost efficiency for both workers and employers.
By the time the new policy was introduced, some Dell employees employed in sales, production and engineering had already switched to an office work format. Other tech giants are seeing similar changes to their workflow, with Amazon, AT&T, Stellantis and JP Morgan recently introducing similar requirements.
