World-famous German composer Hans Zimmer, winner of two Oscars, has begun work on updating the national anthem of Saudi Arabia. This was reported by pravilamag.ru with reference to The Guardian.
The chairman of the General Authority of Entertainment in Saudi Arabia, Turki Al ash-Sheikh, confirmed the collaboration with the composer. In his post on the X social network, he spoke about plans to arrange the anthem for various musical instruments.
During the meeting, the parties discussed several joint creative projects, including the musical “Arabia”, dedicated to the country’s culture, a large-scale concert and the soundtrack to the historical film “Battle of Yarmouk”.
The existing anthem Aash Al-Malik was created in 1947 by the Egyptian composer Abdul Rahman Al-Khatib by order of King Abdul Aziz and was written in the traditional style of “Arabic fanfares” of that time.
